Staff at Wellington indoor market in the UK believe they might have had a 'ghostly visitor' that knocked over several boxes of shoes, leaving an adjacent stairwell in a mess.Staff at Wellington indoor market in the UK believe they might have had a 'ghostly visitor' that knocked over several boxes of shoes, leaving an adjacent stairwell in a mess.

The 'visitation' is said to have occurred on May 4, when staff discovered what looked like evidence of an intruder on Saturday morning and found a large amount of stock from a shoe stall scattered down a staircase leading to the manager’s office.

CCTV footage captured during the night at about 2am showed what staff believe to be a faint ghostly shape travelling up the stairs, before the stack of boxes toppled over.

The boxes were examined afterwards and were found to have been fairly heavy and securely stacked.

The video was uploaded on YouTube by a user named tcmarkets.

David Chapman, a caretaker at the market, also said that the room at the top of the stairs tends to be draftier than usual, and can change temperature rapidly.

The market stands next to a historic site where public executions used to take place hundreds of years in the past.

Netizens however have been quick to point out that the video might be a fake, as there is some distortion cut just before the boxes topple over, suggesting the video may have been edited.
